Tina is a poet, playwright and actor from Vancouver Island. She is the current Poet Laureate for Nanaimo from 2017-2020.

She has honed her skills as a poet over the years working with many fine poets from B.C., most notably mentor Patrick Lane. Her work is included in numerous anthologies, edited by him and published by Leaf Press. Her first full length book of poetry, May 2014, is with Leaf Press, called ‘In the Bone Cracks of the Walls’.

This book was part of an art exhibition with a watercolour painter from Montreal, Loreta Giannetti.

These poems have also gone on to be classically composed in a CD selection called ‘Dolci Momenti’ by 2 singer songwriter sisters from Cape Breton, Annette Coffin and Marguerite Thorne.

She has a second book of poetry in Fall 2015, ‘A Housecoat Remains’ published by Guernica Editions. And her third book of poems, ‘Playing into Silence’ came out in 2018 with Caitlin Press.

Playing Into Silence

Tina has a long background in Theatre as an actor, playwright and performer/teacher of mask work. She has worked with students from high school through to University Theatre Departments as well as adults. As a poet, she loves collaboration and her next collaboration is with the Vancouver Island Symphony, working with 3 female composers. First composition will be in March 2020 with composer Katerina Gimon.
